Feta Cheese Pie


  • 200g Greek yoghurt
  • 1 egg
  • 30ml olive oil
  • 20g butter (room temperature)
  • 250g feta cheese
  • 300g self-raising flour
  • Sesame seeds


  1. Preheat oven to 180C
  2. Mix yoghurt, egg, olive oil and butter in a bowl, add broken up feta cheese
  3. Add self-raising flour and mix well until you have a non-sticky dough and leave to rest for 20 minutes
  4. Spread clean surface with flour and roll the dough until 1.5 to 2cm thickness
  5. Using a 6cm round cutter cut the dough and place onto a lined baking tray
  6. Spray with water, sprinkle with sesame seeds and cook for 30 minutes

Tips & Tricks

  • Substitute for plain flour by adding 2 tsp of baking powder
  • Swap the yoghurt for 200ml milk, 2 tbsp lemon juice and little more flour
  • Try them pan fried - ½ cup olive oil and cook until golden colour on each side
  • Add some heat by swapping a little flour for grated spicy cheese
