A country house with a tale or two
Steeped in history, wrapped in comfort
Built in 1568, transformed in 1751, and now a countryside haven. Taplow House has welcomed centuries of change, but some things never fade – like our warm welcome, lush gardens, and the comfort of a slow morning by the fire.
The original manor house is built – a stately country home surrounded by beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside.
1568
A devastating fire destroys much of the original building, leaving only the foundations behind.
1660
The Georgian house you see today is built, blending classic architecture with timeless elegance.
1751
Taplow House becomes a hotel, welcoming guests for the first time after centuries as a private residence.
1958
Still family-owned, Taplow House offers heritage, comfort and charm as part of a small collection of sister hotels.
