Sous Chef and Chef de partie


Taplow House Hotel, Buckinghamshire, now has an exciting opportunity available for a Chef de Partie and a sous chef to assist in our high profile, busy 4 star hotel.  Taplow House Hotel is a gorgeous country house hotel, grade II listed property, set in six acres of gardens.  With 32 bedrooms and suites, a fine dining restaurant, extensive weddings and events business.

A great position has arisen for a passionate, ambitious Chef de Partie to join our friendly team.  The role of Chef de Partie will involve supervising their kitchen section and assisting the Head Chef with the operation of the kitchen to the highest standards set out by the hotel.

Attributes / Experience:

  • As  Chef de Partie we are looking for someone who is committed to the highest standards of cuisine, presentation and food preparation
  • Must be a good team player with initiative, enthusiasm and drive.
  • The right candidate will have the relevant supervisory experience in a similar position in an equivalent high profile kitchen.
  • You should have a good understanding of HACCP procedures and implementation.



We are also looking to recruit an experienced sous Chef to join our brigade.

Ideally you will already have experience of working in a busy kitchen including volume weddings, banqueting, private dining and fine dining service with acute attention to detail.  Our ideal sous Chef will have:

  • High standards of food hygiene / cleanliness
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Passion for producing perfect dishes every time using locally sourced produce wherever possible.

F&B Assistant

The Food and Beverage Assistant role involves a range of duties, including; the service of food dishes and drinks from our hotel menus, preparing the restaurant and service areas for service, lay up and clearing of tables, giving attentive customer focused service to our customers during their meal ensuring that our customers have a great dining experience through efficient service. Hotel Receptionist with experience of Opera

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our growing team at Taplow House Hotel. Customer service is essential for the position and opera experience is preferred.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

1. To undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure a superb customer service experience.

2. To build a good rapport with all guests and resolve any complaints/issues quickly to maintain high quality customer service.

3. To deal with guest requests to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay.

4. To assist in dealing with customer complaints in an effective and courteous manner, providing or seeking solutions as quickly as possible.

5. To be responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing processes.

6. To assist in keeping the hotel reception area clean and tidy at all times.

7. To undertake general office duties, including correspondence, emails, filing and switchboard, to ensure the smooth running of the reception area.

8. To administer all routes of reservations to ensure that room bookings are made and recorded accurately.

9. To keep up to date with room prices and special offers to provide accurate information to guests.

This job requires shift work and is based on a 40 hour contract.
